“This is Bett’s”

1962

Long before Etsy and eBay, when “mid-century modern” was simply “modern,” in lots of places it looked just like this. Amidst a somewhat generic selection of glass, lighting, ceramics, and dinnerware, an Eames LCM takes center stage. During this period, Herman Miller, in addition to fulfilling orders through its own showrooms and sales force, also offered furniture through retailers such as Bett’s. With no space given for a message, address, or postage, this postcard was likely offered as an in-store promotional item or distributed at other nearby locations to help drum up interest and sales.
